You don't know Henning. He plays in Thesis. But if you knew him you'd agree that he would like this record. Well, it wouldn't be fair if I stated that the Genetiks would surf on the new wave of neo dance punk bands. But the sound of Genetiks music kinda makes me say it. The drums - for example - sound synthetic, the beats are pounding and snappy, supported by the keyboards that mainly play some sort of bass lines. These are the reasons for pigeonholing the band as trendy. It's extremely danceable, disco style, so to say. But: they have a totally different attitude than bands like Temper Temper or The Flesh, for example. The songs by this quartet from southern Germany are composed in a simple way, and the guitar riffs are simple as well, through persistent repetition making the music seem to be uncouth. And the lyrics even strengthen the impression vulgarity. This is why I suppose that Henning could like this. Basically I like this kind of music, but for me Genetiks are a little bit too pushy.
