| EASE THE MEDIC - Riot on The Gold Coast (We Want Action) |
| First off: this is not a new album of emoisdead.com faves Call The Medic, but a relatively new band from Columbus, Ohio, the city, which also accommodates the label called We Want Action. And if I'm not completely beside it, then one of the band members is ther founder of this certain label: Michael Finch. It is funny: Listening to demos of many german bands, that still sound a little wobbly, I always state that they sounded too "german" and compare them to their american idols, which very often do not have the better ideas, but sound more experienced. If Ease The Medic were from Regensburg, Siegen or Oggersheim I'd probably tell them exactly that. Perhaps I must admit that I'm too severe in my opinion. Ease The Medic for example simply have different models than others, less well-known and less up-to-date. There's a little bit of Sunny Day Real Estate, somewhat of noisy Indierock and pleasantly bent harmonies and vocals similar to the ones of late Only If You call Me Jonathan. The trick is not to let you pin down to a special genre and that's what ETM do. They're artfully showing all facets of their different idols and they're on a way to become a pretty cool band. This is definitely capable of development. |
