BROOD - Program To Demystify (broodmusic.de)

Brood from Potsdam are cool. First, because they've been doing everything on their own for many years, following the idea of diy and coming around a lot this way; second, because they have the right influences within a genre that you call post hardcore. In my opinion. If the guys from the band and I compared our cd shelves there would be congruities with releases from the Dischord label, not the newer stuff. But compared to that Brood have a certain metal demeanour that's hard to describe. „Program To Demystify" is the third album, my cd player shows nine tracks, but actually there are only five songs on it, but - as usual - none of them shorter than founr minutes. Brood need this space to let their ideas of music grow. Even though most of the songs are in a high tempo there are always dynamic and long-winded instrumental parts. That's exactly what makes the band so special, and Brood have continuously become better doing this. This band is so damn good and always on the go - I still wonder why they arrest much more attention than they do now.
