BODI BILL - No More Wars (Sinnbus) |
|
Sinnbus isn't specialized just in Indierock anymore, there's an increasing number of releases by electronic acts, like Monotekktoni oder Ampl:tude for example. "No More Wars" is the first album of Bodi Bill, featuring two guys from Berlin called Fabian Fenk and Alex Amoon. Both of them have participated in very different bands and projects before. Alex for example used to play in an instrumental post rock band called Nonostar, the other projects have been more electronic ones. Bodi Bill is an electronic project, too, and from all electronic sinnbus acts I guess I like them best. It may be due to the fact that there's so much real pop flair in it. I think that at least one of both guys actually sings, and if it's true he makes it damn good. "No More Wars" sends you through many different moods. This album is full of very chilling club sounds, dodgy sounds as heard on, for example, the last Radiohead albums, crackling drumloops, c64 sounds and, above all, the charme of homerecording - even if this is not as obvious as for example in abovementioned bands. If there's a song that stands out from the others it's the wonderful "nothing". Soul as fuck! This one is more than a nerdy side project of two bored would-be-creative rock musicians, but it's a cool albums for clubs and bars.
