For two reasons every time a new record of 31Knots comes out it runs at heavy rotation in my cd player for days. On the one hand that is, because I really need some time to get used to the music and the new songs. On the other hand it is,
because I can't stop listening to it after I caught fire! No surprises this time. "The Curse..." is a four-song-ep full of perfect prog-pop tunes, or math-rock, whatever, sophisticated entertainment unlike everything that you have ever heard before. Comparisons to bands like Yes or Karate come up now and then and they're not totally wrong, but they really don't meet meet the originality of the band. And if you knew the first thing about music, then the Knots will soon become your new favourite one. Buy this EP and go to their shows, nerds! By the way: Good to see that with Own Records from Luxembourg the band has finally found a label over here in Europe.
