emo's deader than ever

Again bad news from the Nova front: After Nova Recordings stopped releasing records in late 2005 now their mailorder went offline too. "Wtf?" as kids say today. Won't be long until Media Market's the only place to buy records at, I guess.

Good to see that Les Savy Fav are back.

Embarrasing but true: Eva Briegel of Juli fame sang on Dashboard Confessional's Germany-only single version of "Stolen". Remember DC? It's Mr. Carrabba, the guy who killed emo. Anyway, Ms Briegel sang exactly what the original singer sang on the original version. I guess she didn't even meet Christopher. So she got a little money for copying another singer and helping DC become famous in Germany without getting some international fame as a countermove. Emoisdead.com says: she's been used.

I think you're right claiming the song 'embarrasing' and it's actually a very bad song but interesting to hear DC on the radio for the first time just because Ms Briegel sings some lines. I assume they must have met at least to produce this video:

Maybe you should stop to see everything in black and white but in a more reflective way, of course it's about promotion and commercial but it's also about collaboration and the heart of music - so I wouldn't dare to say she's been used.

Take care
